Washington County Service Authority (WCSA) is receiving applications for Water Plant Operator(s) and Wastewater Plant Operator(s); the position(s) require good communication skills, self-motivation, able to meet the physical demands per the Position Descriptions, manual labor in all weather conditions, a valid Virginia driver’s license with good driving record, (commercial driver’s license with Class B endorsement preferred), and knowledge of safe working practices and basic electrical/mechanical knowledge.
Duties include but are not limited to daily operation of Water or Wastewater Plants on a rotating shift basis. Other duties will be performing preventative maintenance and repairs to all process equipment, monitoring SCADA systems, checking and maintaining pumping stations. WCSA prefers a valid minimum Virginia Class III Water or Wastewater Operator License OR a bachelor of science degree in biology, chemistry, environmental science or related filed who would be eligible under DPOR to set for and pass the Class III exam.
