Washington County Service Authority (WCSA) is seeking to hire Water and Wastewater Plant Operator(s). The position(s) requires good communication skills, self-motivation, the ability to meet the physical demands per the Position Description, manual labor in all weather conditions, a valid Virginia driver’s license with a good driving record, knowledge of safe working practices and basic electrical/mechanical/chemical knowledge.
Duties include but are not limited to daily operation of Water Production and Wastewater Treatment Facilities on a rotating shift basis. Other duties will be performing preventative maintenance and repairs to all process equipment, monitoring SCADA systems, and checking and maintaining water quality standards through the treatment process. WCSA prefers a valid minimum Virginia Class III (Water or Wastewater) OR a associates/bachelor of science degree in biology, chemistry, environmental science or related field who would be eligible under DPOR to take the Class III exam within 9 months.
