One tank has been replaced and is in operation. The second tank is scheduled to be completed in late winter 2024. It will also allow these residences to be served by WCSA\u2019s water system from its Middle Fork Water Treatment Plant.<br><br>The project is funded by the Virginia Department of Health Office of Drinking Water and is being constructed by Hill Construction, Inc., from Clintwood, Virginia. Construction from Roebuck Road to Robinette Gap Road is expected to be completed in December 2023.\u00a0WCSA is seeking funding to complete the project into Mendota.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>Mary\u2019s Chapel\/Archery Range Road Waterline Project<\/strong>\u00a0will enable WCSA to bring water service to homes along Mary\u2019s Chapel Road and a portion of Walker Mountain Road, along with an unserved section of Archery Range Road. The project will provide new service to 14 homes in the project area and updated service to 50 homes connected to an older line that is experiencing service issues.\u00a0<br><br>The project will include 17,500 linear feet of waterline and construction of a water pumping station.\u00a0This project has been awarded to Little B Enterprises. Inc for $1,968,772.18.\u00a0The project is funded by the Virginia Department of Health Office of Drinking Water and the WCSA.\u00a0Construction began in August 2023.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Upcoming Projects:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The&nbsp;<strong>Lee Highway Corridor Sewer Expansion Project<\/strong>&nbsp;is a multi-phase project that will bring much-needed sewer treatment capacity to the west-central portion of Washington County. The project is funded by USDA Rural Development, Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, Washington County and WCSA, and was designed by Thompson &amp; Litton.<br><br>The initial \u201cbackbone\u201d project will include four sewer pumping stations, approximately 41,220 linear feet of sewer force main line, 32,221 linear feet of gravity sewer line and 150 sewer manholes. Construction is anticipated to begin in November 2023. The project was completed in May 2023.<\/li>\n<!-- \/wp:list-item --><\/ul>\n<!-- \/wp:list -->\n\n<!-- wp:list -->\n<ul><!-- wp:list-item -->\n<li>The <strong>Galvanized Line Replacement \u2014 Phase 3 Project<\/strong> was the final step in a three-phase project to replace all galvanized pipe in WCSA\u2019s distribution system. The project was widespread across Washington County and consisted of seven divisions. Water line installation began in January 2023 and approximately 30,000 linear feet of water line has been installed to date. WCSA anticipates completing the water line extension in December 2023. The $33.1 million project is funded by USDA Rural Development, the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, the Washington County Board of Supervisors and WCSA. Construction bids have been received and the project is currently in the award stages.
