This $1.282 million project was funded by USDA Rural Development and the Mount Rogers Planning District Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Mendota Road Waterline Extension Project<\/strong>\u00a0continued the installation of waterline infrastructure begun nearly 20 years ago, and provided service to 62 additional residences along a more than eight-mile section of Mendota Road. It also allowed these residences to be served by WCSA\u2019s water system from its Middle Fork Water Treatment Plant.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Mary\u2019s Chapel\/Archery Range Road Waterline Project<\/strong>\u00a0enabled WCSA to bring water service to homes along Mary\u2019s Chapel Road and a portion of Walker Mountain Road, along with an unserved section of Archery Range Road. Construction included installation of 17,500 linear feet of waterline and a water pumping station.\u00a0Funded by the Virginia Department of Health Office of Drinking Water and WCSA, the project provided new service to 14 homes in the project area and updated service to 50 homes connected to an older line that was experiencing service issues.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"615\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/wcsawater.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Setting-Pumps-MarysChapel-Archery-Range-Road-615x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-50088\" style=\"width:auto;height:500px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wcsawater.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Setting-Pumps-MarysChapel-Archery-Range-Road-615x1024.jpg 615w, https:\/\/wcsawater.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Setting-Pumps-MarysChapel-Archery-Range-Road-480x799.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 615px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Ongoing Projects<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>Lee Highway Corridor Sewer Improvements Project<\/strong>&nbsp;is a multi-phase project that will bring much-needed sewer treatment capacity to the west-central portion of Washington County. The project is funded by USDA Rural Development, the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, Washington County and WCSA, and was designed by Thompson &amp; Litton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The initial \u201cbackbone\u201d project will include four sewer pumping stations, approximately 41,220 linear feet of sewer force main line, 32,221 linear feet of gravity sewer line and 150 sewer manholes. This updated service will also allow fire hydrants to be placed into service along Smyth Chapel Road and Tobias Road. The project is underway and expected to be completed in the fall of 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:45px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Upcoming Projects<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Buffalo Pond Waterline Extension Project\u00a0<\/strong>and the\u00a0<strong>Flatwood Acres Waterline Extension Project<\/strong>\u00a0will enable WCSA to supply public water to 20 residents.
