The Lee Highway Corridor Sewer Improvements Project is a multi-phase project that will bring much-needed sewer treatment capacity to the west-central portion of Washington County. The project is funded by USDA Rural Development, Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, Washington County and WCSA, and was designed by Thompson & Litton.

The initial “backbone” project will include four sewer pumping stations, approximately 41,220 linear feet of sewer force main line, 32,221 linear feet of gravity sewer line and 150 sewer manholes. Construction is underway on all four contracts and is expected to be completed in February 2025.

The following contracts have been awarded: 

  • Contract I – King Mill Pike and Halls Bottom Force Mains 
    Jones Road & Bridge, Inc.

  • Contract II – Lee Highway Gravity Sewer and Force Main      
    Jones Road & Bridge, Inc. 
    Amount: $7,423,290 
  • Contract III – Halls Bottom Gravity Sewer 
    Mendon Pipeline, Inc.
    Amount: $7,360,850
  • Contract IV – King Mill Pike, Lee Highway, Sugar Hollow, and Halls Bottom Pump Stations
    Jones Road & Bridge, Inc 
    Amount: $6,517,379
